Possible flat

We may have found somewhere to live. A colleague of mine from Swinton in Manchester has a big flat on the beach in Mangaf near the school and she said we could rent a room there.

Initially we thought that would be too weird having 'flat mates' at our age and stage in life but the more we've thought about it, the more appealing it has become. We'd be sharing with her and another teacher from Canada. However the rent she's asking would be covered by my allowance from the school so we save more for coming home, it's a posh, westerners only complex with three or four pools, a big gym and right on Mangaf beach. It's also next door to the Hilton and its private beach which I already have my eye on for my birthday! ;-)

It would only be for four months too which we think is manageable for all the benefits it offers. I'd be able to share lifts to and from work with the lady who has the flat and another teacher from the school who lives across the road. The flat has Internet but we'd have to buy a bed although we already know of a family leaving to go to Texas who are selling a bed etc so should be easy to get hold of everything and it'll be a lot cheaper than four months rent.

We are just waiting to hear that the room is free from the 1st March and then if so we'll go and see it tomorrow. If we go tomorrow I'll take pics for the blog.

There's also a British clinic within walking distance of the flat that I'm going to inquire at about a scan! Eeeekk :-D

The picture isn't of the flat haha it's just an enormous 'house' I pass on the way home from work every day. Think it must belong to the prince or Amir!

  1. Having flatmates will be good practice for when the baby comes...and you can't get rid of me and Nicole!!! Enjoy your last 4 months- we'll arrange for a swimming pool to be built in your back garden because that's going to be hard to leave!!!

Just told Anna that you are coming home soon and she cheered! :-) Also asked if she knew that 'Natalie and Laurence were going to have a baby' and she said, 'Yes- is the baby's Natalie's? Is it in her tummy, cos mans don't have babies in their tummy?' Very cute :-)

Will be starting the Dearys Homecoming Countdown very soon! xoxo

  2. Oh yes ! Ros - we will need to arrange a 'welcome home drinks and nibbles' for them coming home! We could blow up the kids paddling pool to give the effect of the swimming pool! ;)

Nat - good news re flat as you say not for long (nearer 3 months) and all the perks sound amazing! Will feel like your on a beach holiday for the last 3 months! and even better close to a clinic for the baby scan :) Keep us posted x
